English Classroom/English Corner ideas

This year, we wanted to show you some of the things we do on the first days of school in order to motivate our students and decorate our English classrooms or English corners. The goal is to make every student participate and feel comfortable, important and special.

Here you are some examples and the way we did them:

DECORATING THE ENGLISH CLASSROOM

Super heroes inTraining: perfect for a new English classroom or even for a new door in the classroom!

1.- Teacher and pupils make a list of virtues that a superhero must have.
2.- Every student makes a small poster with their adjective at home and bring it to the classroom.
3.- They paste their poster on the mural.

The tree of hands: perfect combination of English, arts and poetry.

1.- Each student makes the outline of one of their hands and decorate it their way because all of them are special and unique and inside us, we all have an artist.
2.- The teacher doesn't tell the students what are we building up, they have to discover by observating the way their hands are displayed.
3.- Once the tree is done, they look for a poem and write it down

MOTIVATING OUR STUDENTS

The idea is to make a double poster and wear it in your lessons so the students can use it to ask questions in English when they need to know new words or spellings.
