St Patrick's Day is a very interesting celebration to deal with in our English as a Foreign Language lessons. Why and what for? It's very simple. It's a national holiday in Ireland and a good opportunity for our pupils to learn about this English speaking country and its traditions. Moreover, St Patrick's is also widely celebrated in many cities in the USA, as Boston, New York, Chicago or Philadelphia as a celebration of Irish American culture (Wikipedia).
Click on the picture to see an easy way to explain this celebration to your students and, in the next posts, we'll show you how to display your st. Patrick's lessons with vocabulary presentations, stories, videos, crafts, and online activities.
Hope you like it!
